Privacy, cookies, and support alongside the Terms.
By using Pickknow, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please stop using the platform.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the operator of Pickknow ("we", "us", "our") regarding your access to and use of the Pickknow website, applications, and related services (together, the "Services").
By creating an account, listing items, browsing, messaging sellers, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy where they apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes may also be communicated by notice on the site or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Nigerian law to use the Services. If you use Pickknow on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.
You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you notify us promptly of unauthorised use.
One person or entity should not maintain multiple accounts to circumvent rules, limits, or enforcement. We may require verification information where needed for trust, safety, or legal compliance.
Pickknow helps buyers and sellers find each other. We are not the seller of your item and we are not a party to the deal you make offline or outside our tools.
Pickknow operates an online marketplace hub focused on Nigeria. We provide listing, discovery, messaging, and related features so users can connect. Unless we explicitly state otherwise for a specific product, we are not the buyer, seller, insurer, escrow agent, or guarantor of any transaction between users.
Listings are created by users. We do not pre-approve every listing and we do not warrant that any listing is accurate, lawful, or safe. You are responsible for your own decisions when meeting, paying, or accepting goods or services.
Features and availability (including categories, moderation, wallet or payments if offered) may change as we develop the platform. Descriptions on this site or in help articles are for guidance only and do not override these Terms unless we say so expressly.
You may only list items and services you are legally allowed to sell and that comply with our policies, applicable law in Nigeria, and any category rules we publish. Listings must be truthful about condition, price, and location.
We may review, refuse, edit, or remove listings or media, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly or seriously breach these rules.
You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes attempting to hack, overload, or reverse engineer the platform; harvesting user data without consent; harassing, threatening, or defrauding others; or circumventing security or enforcement measures.
For in-person meetings, prefer public places where you feel safe, verify the item before you pay, and be cautious with payment requests outside normal channels. Pickknow may provide safety tips in help content; they are recommendations, not guarantees.
You must comply with all applicable laws, including those relating to consumer protection, tax, and export. Reports of abuse, scams, or prohibited items may be investigated and shared with authorities when required by law.
Many deals on Pickknow are arranged directly between users. Unless we offer and you use an in-platform payment or wallet feature for a specific transaction, payment terms are between buyer and seller. We do not guarantee payment, delivery, or refunds for peer-to-peer arrangements.
If we introduce listing fees, commissions, promotions, or wallet services, we will describe pricing and terms in the product or a separate fee schedule. Taxes, if any, are your responsibility unless the law says otherwise.
Chargebacks, disputes with payment providers, or fraud claims may require you to cooperate with us and with banks or processors as needed.
In-app messaging and offers (where available) are provided for negotiating and coordinating transactions. Do not use them to send illegal content, malware, or unsolicited bulk marketing.
Reviews and ratings should reflect genuine experiences. Fake reviews, coercion, or manipulation of reputation features is prohibited. We may remove reviews or restrict features that undermine trust.
We may monitor or scan messages automatically for safety, spam, and policy enforcement, within applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
The Pickknow name, logo, software, design, and original content we provide are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or misuse them except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
You retain rights to content you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt, and distribute your content as needed to run, promote, and improve the Services (including moderation and legal compliance).
We may warn, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts or access to the Services if we believe you have breached these Terms, created risk, or must comply with law. We may remove or restrict content without prior notice where necessary for safety or legal reasons.
You may stop using Pickknow at any time. Some provisions (e.g. liability limits, governing law) survive termination where they logically should.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services or any user interaction.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in fees for the Services in that period, or (b) where you paid no fees, ten thousand Nigerian naira (NGN 10,000). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Nigeria shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
Before bringing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us through support. If we cannot resolve it within a reasonable time, either party may pursue remedies as allowed by law.
For questions about these Terms, use Help & Support in your account (when logged in) or the contact options we publish on the site. We are not a law firm; general questions go to support, not "legal" as a separate department unless we publish specific legal contact details.
